Madonna Helps AIDS Walk

Madonna was on hand to speak at the opening ceremony for AIDS Project Los Angeles' 14th annual walk-a-thon on Sunday.

Though she didn't actually walk herself, she did speak of AIDS and the importance of continuing the fight against it. Also on hand at the event was actor Nathan Lane, who emceed the event, and DreamWorks SKG mogul Jeffrey Katzenberg.

According to a spokesperson for the organization, the walk-a-thon raised between $2.5 million and $3 million and over 25,000 people walked the course, which kicked-off and ended in front of Paramount Pictures. The organization sponsoring the event, AIDS Project Los Angeles, serves over 7,500 people living with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County.
