The first video from Madonna's "Music" album is in the can, and part of it has popped up online.
The first 20 seconds of Madonna's video for the title track from "Music" is now available in Madonna's area of MTV.com "Bands A-Z." In the bit of the video that has surfaced, Madonna can be seen sporting a cowboy hat and kicking it with actress Debi Mazar and backup singer Nikki Harris in the back of a stretch limo, presumably on her way somewhere swell.
When the rest of the clip is revealed, fans will see Madonna and friends enjoy a wild night on the town with British comic Ali G (see "Madonna Preps For 'Music' Release").
Once again, Madonna has teamed with director Jonas Akerlund for the video after the duo landed Best Video Of The Year at MTV's 1998 Video Music Awards for their work on "Ray Of Light."
As we previously reported,
Madonna's "Music" album will surface in full on September 19, and the title track is expected to hit radio early next month. The album will be Madonna's eighth studio effort, and sees Madonna share production duties with Mirwais (the French-Afghani club artist) and William Orbit (who worked on the "Ray Of Light" LP as well as her 1999 hit single, "Beautiful Stranger").
Mark "Spike" Stent (who produced Oasis' "Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants" album as well as Beth Orton's "Central Reservation") and Guy Sigsworth have also contributed to "Music." Groove Armada, Hex Hector, and Victor Calderone are expected to deliver dance mixes for several of the new album's singles.
