Vivian Trimble Quits Luscious Jackson

In what is being described as a "totally amicable split," keyboardist Vivian Trimble has left the all-girl outfit Luscious Jackson to pursue other musical projects.

A press release announcing Trimble's departure indicates that she had grown weary of the road and wanted to ground herself in New York City.

Trimble will continue to work on music for Dusty Trails, a band that includes former Breeders bassist Josephine Wiggs and Jon Spencer Blues Explosion drummer Russell Simins, in addition to a variety of other soundtrack gigs.

According to a spokesperson for Luscious Jackson, the band is currently working on demos for the follow-up to 1996's "Fever In Fever Out," but no date has been set for the new album's release.
