The improbable group then drew on Spanish and Greek influences in crafting the single, the video for which recently impressed the folks on MTV's "12 Angry Viewers"

"'No Tengo Dinero' is actually Greek," according to Al Agami, who was forced to flee his home in the African country of Lado for Denmark. "The hook is a lick from a Greek song, so, I mean, we're just trying to make the world melt together for three and a half minutes." [400k QuickTime]

When the time came to film clip for the track, the band stuck to its unconventional

ways, bringing in the likes of porno film kingpin Ron Jeremy among others.

"We just thought, 'How can we make this fun?'" Los Umbrellos' Mai-Britt Grondahl Vingsoe said, explaining the band's recipe for success. "We sat down, we came up with a bunch of ideas, and Ron Jeremy and five other girls came on, and an orangutan, and it was a whole lot of fun shooting it." [400k QuickTime]

The group has played a number of one-off gigs in the U.S. recently, but hopes to mount a full-blown tour in the near future.
