Limp Bizkit To Get Close To Fans For CD Release

Never ones to shy away from their adoring fans, the rap-rock impresarios of Limp Bizkit will descend on the Virgin Megastore in New York's Times Square next week to mark the release of their new album.

When "Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water" hits stores on October 17, Limp will do the same, turning up at Virgin for an autograph session beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Fans hoping to share at least a few seconds with Limp during the signing will have to move soon. Virgin will make the album available for pre-purchase on Friday starting at 9 a.m., and the first 500 fans who buy the record will receive a laminate that earns them a spot on line for the signing.

The event is one part of what is shaping up to be a major push for Limp's third album. So far the group has cranked out two videos from "Chocolate Starfish" (see "Limp Bizkit Unveils Two New Videos") and has plans for a major U.S. tour with

Eminem, Papa Roach, and Xzibit (see "Limp Bizkit, Eminem, Papa Roach Unveil Tour Dates").

The band also recently unveiled plans for a promotion that will give fans who purchase the album the chance to win a Paul Reed Smith guitar, a Remo drumhead autographed by the band, or lifetime backstage passes (see "Limp Bizkit To Give Fans The Willy Wonka Treatment").
