Snoop, L.L. May Tackle Dramatic Film

June 11 [7:55 EDT] -- Snoop Doggy Dogg may be the next music figure to take a stab at an acting career.

The rapper is reportedly ready to make his motion picture debut with none other than L.L. Cool J in a film called "The Real."

While spokespeople for Snoop and L.L. have yet to comment, the movie's producer, Paul Heller, says they've signed on to play dramatic roles that highlight the reality of contemporary black life in America.

According to Heller, neither will rap in the film, though they may contribute songs to the soundtrack.

Snoop has appeared as himself in the big screen rap-umentary "The Show," and in his own "Murder Was the Case" mini-movie. Meanwhile, television sitcom veteran L.L. has acted with Michael J. Fox in "The Hard Way," and with Robin Williams in "Toys."

As we reported Tuesday, Snoop also has some new tracks due out next month (see "Rage/Snoop Remix Due In July" from June 10).
