Although Lenny Kravitz usually draws comparisons to such vintage rockers as John Lennon and Curtis Mayfield, the singer-songwriter now appears to be joining the unlikely company of Jerry Lewis and Lou Rawls.
Kravitz is attempting to put together plans for Kidzstock, a special music telethon to benefit Kidz 2000 and Beyond, a non-profit group that seeks to raise awareness and money to help prevent child abuse.
As an acting board member for Kidz 2000 and Beyond, Kravitz is hoping to hold the telethon in Miami in April 2000, although a definite date and venue have not been announced.
This weekend the singer will also be in Miami, signing autographs and greeting fans during a special fundraiser and promotional event for the charity organization.
Lenny Kravitz has just completed a solo tour, and is enjoying a few weeks of down time before heading back on the road with the Black Crowes and Everlast for a five-week tour.
