Kelly Price Wraps New LP With R. Kelly's Help

Kelly Price has just finished recording the final track for her new album, "Mirror Mirror," which will be released via Def Jam's R&B imprint, Def Soul, on June 6.

"Mirror Mirror" will be the follow-up to Price's 1998 debut, "Soul Of A Woman," and even though she's been working on the album on and off since December (see "Kelly Price Cuts New Tracks With JD, R. Kelly, Montell Jordan"), she says she was willing to wait even longer in order to complete a collaboration with R. Kelly.

"The album is done," Kelly told the MTV Radio Network on Saturday, the same day as the Soul Train Music Awards. "I just did my song with R. Kelly three days ago, and that was the last song on the album. I did the rest of the album in a period of four weeks. I was so excited to get back in. We did the record and we waited for R. Kelly, 'cause he was finishing his

album. It's done." [RealAudio]

The first single from "Mirror Mirror" will be a remake of the Shirley Murdock tune "As We Lay," a track which originally appeared on the former Zapp vocalist's self-titled 1986 LP.

In related news, the remix version of Price's "Love Sets You Free" arrives in stores on Tuesday, with proceeds set to benefit breast cancer research through the T.J. Martell Foundation and Denise Rich's G&P Foundation for Cancer Research (see "Kelly Price, Montell Jordan, Dru Hill Team Up To Battle Breast Cancer").
