The British dance and jazz outfit Jamiroquai will keep things on the down low for New Year’s Eve, as the band has apparently turned down a million-dollar gig in the U.S. in favor of staying at home.
Reuters reports that Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay plans to celebrate the New Year at his London home with fiancee Denise Van Outen, rather than play a lucrative American show.
It wasn’t immediately known what offer Jamiroquai had nixed, although an article in the Monday edition of the “New York Post” suggested that the band was to perform on December 31 as part of PAX TV’s “Millennium Live New Year’s Eve” special.
Over the weekend, Jamiroquai played a charity concert at Shepherds Bush Empire in London to help the Big Issue Foundation raise money for the homeless.
