Michael Hutchence Estate In Legal Battle

The legal battle has begun in Australia over the assets of the late Michael Hutchence. The "Sydney Morning Herald" reports that the singer's mother, Patricia Glassop, has launched court action against executor Andrew Paul to have $30 million (Australian) worth of property, cash, stocks and royalties from music sales and publishing included in the estate.

The holdings are currently stashed in obscure, complicated trusts in various parts of the world, including tax havens in Hong Kong and the British Virgin Islands. They're apparently controlled solely by Paul, Hutchences' financial manager.

According to the paper, Hutchence will give half his wealth to daughter Tiger Lily and the rest in equal shares to his mother, father, brother, sister and girlfriend Paula Yates, the mother of his daughter.
