Machine Head Delivers “Silver,” Joins Pantera, ICP, S.O.A.D., More On “Heavy Metal 2″ As Tour Looms

After logging time on the road with the likes of Sevendust, Coal Chamber, and Slipknot, the men of Machine Head have lined up a headlining tour that kicks off this week.

The band’s “Year Of The Dragon” tour gets rolling on Friday in San Diego with Reveille and Primer 55 in tow and will see the groups make the rounds through early March.

The tour comes just as Machine Head is delivering “Silver,” the second single from its album “The Burning Red,” to radio.

While the band shot a video for “From This Day,” the first single from the album, with director Michael Martin last fall (see “Machine Head Taps Master P Director For New Video” ), so far the group has no plans to shoot a clip for “Silver.”

In addition to its time on the road, Machine Head will also turn up on the upcoming soundtrack to “Heavy Metal: 2000,” the sequel to the 1981 animated cult classic. The band is kicking in the previously unreleased
track “Alcoholocaust” for the collection, which also boasts unreleased songs from Pantera, Insane Clown Posse, Bauhaus, System Of A Down, Coal Chamber, and others.

Machine Head excavated the track from its sessions for “The Burning Red,” and the cut will be heard both on the soundtrack and in the film itself. The soundtrack arrives on April 18, while the film isn’t expected to hit theaters until this summer.
