Inoj Going Her Own Way On Album, 'N Sync Tour

After making her mark with two hit covers, Inoj is ready to do things her way with a new album and a slot on 'N Sync's upcoming U.S. tour.

The singer broke through with a cover of the Cyndi Lauper hit "Time After Time," and followed it up with her take on Ready For The World's early 80s hit "Love You Down." After greeting audiences with those tracks on volumes I and II of the "So So Def Bass All-Stars" collections, Inoj is ready to make a name for herself with "Ready For The World," a debut album that takes its name from the aforementioned 80s hitmakers.

"It is such a relief," the singer told the MTV Radio Network of finally releasing her album. "I've been working on it for a long time. Well, not really that long, but it was the simple fact that I had so many ideas and I finally got to do them and now they're coming to fruition. It's really coming off this time." [RealAudio]

The

singer flexes her songwriting skills on 12 of the tracks found on "Ready For The World," but will include her covers of "Time After Time" and the 1979 Anita Ward disco classic "Ring My Bell." The album will hit stores on August 3.

Inoj will be able to give "Ready For The World" a high-profile push with a slot on 'N Sync's upcoming U.S. tour, which kicks off on July 27 in Connecticut. If you want to catch the show, here's where to look:
