Ice Cube's "Anaconda" Tops At Box Office

April 11 [10:00 EST] -- Jim Carrey's time on top of the box office heap was cut short this week by a giant snake.

Carrey's "Liar Liar" was bumped from the number one position it held for the last three weeks by the arrival of "Anaconda."

The thriller Ice Cube, Jon Voight, Jennifer Lopez, and Eric Stoltz tangle with a 40 foot reptile in the Amazon) took in a reported $16.5 million in its first weekend in theaters, edging "Liar Liar" which earned $14.3 million.

Also making its debut this weekend was "Grosse Pointe Blank," the John Cusack, Minnie Driver comedy about a hitman who attends his high school reunion. The film brought in a reported $7 million, and wound up in fourth place.
