Hootie: Rested And Ready To Record

August 25 [10:00 EDT] -- After taking a heavy duty vacation after touring to support "Fairweather Johnson," Hootie and the Blowfish appear to be ready to get back to work.

The New York Post" reports that the band will be heading back into the studio this fall to begin work on its third album.

When our colleagues in MTV Radio caught up with Hootie's Mark Bryan, he said that the band has been using its time off to replenish its songwriting juices. Bryan noted that the recording of "Fairweather Johnson" came closely on the heels of the band's tour for its breakthrough "Cracked Rear View.

Bryan adds that the refreshed Blowfish should have their next album in stores and should be on the road by this time next year.
