The Hootie concert, which will be carried on Atlantic's website starting at Thursday at 1 p.m. EST, is the first of several planned web-direct performances celebrating the new digital facility. During the show, the Columbia, South Carolina, band will perform two songs from its upcoming "Musical Chairs" album, which is due out on September 15.

As part of the label's new internet venture, Atlantic has opened an in-house digital production studio for web concerts, chats and press conferences. On July 18, Hootie and the Blowfish will take its music to a global TV audience when it plays the opening ceremonies of this
