"South Park" Lining Up Surprises For Soundtrack

It's not often that artists first appear on the covers of "Rolling Stone" and "Spin" and then turn up on an album, but that appears to be the case with the kids from "South Park."

The major label bidding war for the rights to the soundtrack to the Comedy Central hit is over, with American Records (now under the Sony Music umbrella) on top.

The album, which arrives on May 5, will be based on an upcoming episode in which Chef, voiced by R&B great Isaac Hayes, is rescued from dire financial straits by some famous guest artists.

Even though May 5 is little more than a month away, neither Comedy Central nor American Records are talking about who those guest stars will be. We'll keep you posted.
