Hanson's latest effort, "This Time Around," doesn't hit stores until May 9, but the Oklahoma brothers will roll the album out in its entirety online this week. The Hanson clan is hooking up with MTV.com to stage a live online listening party that will be carried in RealVideo on Friday night. The boys will join host Carson Daly in MTV's Times Square Studios and will discuss the album as they unveil it during a Webcast that begins at 9 p.m. (ET). To check out the Webcast, users will need to have already downloaded the band's single "This Time Around" in LiquidAudio from any one of numerous radio station sites and other online media partners. Users who download the song will then be issued a secret Web address and password, and fans will be able to download the song up until March 31 to be eligible for the listening party. Once inside the event, users will be the first to check out the band's first original album since its 1997 debut hit "Middle Of Nowhere." For
the effort, the Hanson brothers recruited John Popper of Blues Traveler and blues guitarist Jonny Lang to help out and have put together what drummer Zac Hanson describes as "a whole different spectrum than pop.""What we always said was just, 'Listen to the music,'" Taylor Hanson added. "I mean, we just love to play music, and we're just a band doing what any other band is doing. So I think it's just like, 'Hey, listen to the music.' You can like it. You can not like it. But this is who it is. This is what we are." For a full-length interview with Hanson, check out the MTV News Online feature "Hanson: A Good Wow."
