Macy Gray Gets Fashionable, Plans November Tour

The soulful Macy Gray has just been added to next week's 2000 VH1/"Vogue" Fashion Awards, where she will join previously announced performers Kid Rock, Destiny's Child, and Lenny Kravitz for the fashion-meets-music event.

In addition to playing the show, which is being staged at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, Gray will also be vying for one of the coveted Fashion Awards. Gray has been nominated in the category of Most Fashionable Female Artist, facing competition from fellow nominees Toni Braxton, Faith Hill, Janet Jackson, and Jennifer Lopez. Lopez has already been named the winner of this year's Versace Award (see "Jennifer Lopez To Receive Versace Award").

You can catch the winners, losers, and all-around players when the VH1/"Vogue" Fashion Awards are broadcast on VH1 on Friday, October 20 from 9 to 11 p.m. (ET)

Prior to the Fashion Awards, Gray will head to the nation's capital on Monday, October

16 to participate in the Million Family March, which is also tentatively set to feature appearances from Toni Braxton, Erykah Badu, and Stevie Wonder, among others (see "Mary J. Blige, Macy Gray To Perform At Million Family March").

Aside from the event-related performances, Gray has just mapped out plans for a brief tour in November to support her debut album, "On How Life Is." The LP has sold more than 2.76 million copies, according to SoundScan.

Opening for Macy Gray on most of her November tour dates will be Common and Black Eyed Peas after the latter wraps its stint on the MTV Campus Invasion tour.
