Puffy's "No Way Out" took home statuettes for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group when the first of the pre-telecast awards were announced at New York's Radio City Music Hall at 5:15 p.m., almost three hours before the first televised award is to be handed out.
Meanwhile, two generations of Dylans each picked up two early awards as Bob won for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance and Best Contemporary Folk Album while his son Jakob and the Wallflowers grabbed Best Rock Performance by a Group and Best Rock Song.
The remaining 13 Grammy Awards will be handed out, with host Kelsey Grammer presiding, live on CBS Wednesday night beginning at 8 p.m.
