Goodie M.O.B.'s Cee-Lo To Tie The Knot

The Goodie M.O.B.'s Cee-Lo Green plans to get married this weekend to his longtime girlfriend, Christina Shanta Johnson, at a private ceremony in Atlanta.

The 24-year-old rapper met Johnson, who hails from Charlotte, North Carolina, at an Atlanta nightclub in 1997 as the band was working on its "Still Standing" LP and have been close ever since. The couple is also expecting its first child in the fall.

This marriage is a fulfillment of prophecy," Cee-Lo said in a statement announcing the marriage, "so in that sense I feel a calm and an assurance … about my love and my choice in a woman and a soulmate.

Christina reassures me that true love exists along with compatibility and having a genuine open-minded relationship in our age and time. She is the other half of my whole and has filled a void in me personally, spiritually, mentally, professionally, and emotionally.

Green and Johnson will exchange their personalized wedding vows on March 18 at Southwest

Atlanta Church, with a reception to be held at a downtown ballroom with such guests as Jermaine Dupri, Outkast, Erykah Badu, L.A. Reid, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, and boxer Evander Holyfield.

As for Goodie M.O.B., the band has just shot a video with TLC for "What It Ain't/Ghetto Enuff," the second single to be issued from "World Party" (see [article id="1429628"]"TLC Joins Goodie M.O.B. For New Video"[/article]).
