Goo Goo Dolls Set Tour Dates

The Goo Goo Dolls will be kicking off a North American tour on October 22 in support of their upcoming album, “Dizzy Up the Girl.”

The outing is to begin in Santa Ana, California at the Galaxy Theater. The trio is hitting the road with band friend and keyboardist, David Schultz, as well as R.E.M.’s touring guitarist, Nathan December.

The Goo Goo Dolls will also be showing up at the MTV Video Music Awards on Thursday, as their hit song “Iris,” from the “City of Angels” soundtrack, is up for Best Video From a Film (see “Video Music Award News” for a complete list of nominees).

The group will be shooting their next video for “Slide” later this week in Los Angeles with “Iris” director, Nancy Bardawil. “Slide” is the first single off of “Dizzy Up the Girl,” the Goo Goo Dolls’ sixth album and their first since the 1995 double-platinum work, “A Boy Named Goo.”

The group will be touring North America through the end of the year,
while their world-wide outing is expected to wrap in about two years.
