The Goo Goo Dolls have enlisted renowned artist Bill Barminski to direct a film, which currently has the working title of “Greed in Action,” to be shown during the band’s upcoming concerts.
Barminski is perhaps best known for his “Absolut Barminski” billboard sign for Absolut Vodka that currently towers over Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. Barminski also recently handled the video for Baz Luhrmann’s quirky single, “Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)” [RealVideo] .
There’s currently no due date attached to the project, and the planned five-minute Goo Goo film will include both animation and stock footage of the band.
While the Goo Goos wait for the short movie to be completed, the band will head out on the road with Sugar Ray and Fastball for a tour that kicks off on July 16 in Phoenix.
