Bobcat Goldthwait Helps Goo Goo Dolls With New Video

The Goo Goo Dolls triple-platinum "Dizzy Up The Girl" LP has already spawned three hit singles -- "Slide," "Dizzy," and "Black Balloon" -- and this week the band will shoot the video to the album's fourth single, "Broadway," on location in Los Angeles.

The Dolls will team with director Nancy Bardawil, who also helmed the band's three previous singles as well as the group's clip for "Iris" from the "City Of Angels" soundtrack.

Comedian-actor Bobcat Goldthwait penned the treatment for the "Broadway" video, which is expected to premiere around the same time the single is released to radio on March 28.

To help push the new single, the Goo Goo Dolls plan to make appearances and perform "Broadway" on episodes of Fox's "Mad-TV" and WB's "Charmed" series slated to hit the air in May.

In other Goo Goo news, on April 1 the band will headline Houston radio station KRBE's Fourth Annual Earth Day Festival being held at the city's Buffalo Bayou Park. Other acts

playing the benefit gig include Smash Mouth, Vertical Horizon, Train, Edwin McCain, and Dido.

Proceeds from the show will be donated to the local Parks and Recreation Department and the Citizens' Environmental Coalition, an alliance of more than 90 nonprofit organizations working to enhance and improve the environment in the Houston-Galveston area.
