Ol' Dirty Bastard furthered his case for the title of "unluckiest man in rap" when he was arrested Tuesday night in Los Angeles for unlawful possession of body armor, or in layman's terms, for wearing a bulletproof vest.
Police say that O.D.B.'s decision to wear a bulletproof vest was not a wise one given his prior violent felony conviction.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the rapper was stopped for a minor traffic violation in Hollywood around 10:45 p.m. The rapper's lawyer told MTV News that Ol' Dirty double-parked his car, and police officers told him to move it. Ol' Dirty did not have a driver's license, and the rapper was searched leading police to discover the body armor.
Ol' Dirty was detained in jail Tuesday night for several hours and was eventually released on $18,000 bail. He now faces a May court date in connection with the incident.
If convicted, the rapper could be sentenced from 16 months to up to three years in jail.
