Ghostface Killah May Hit The Road

Ghostface Killah is taking his “Supreme Clientele” on the road.

Ticketmaster’s “Live Daily” Web site reports that the Wu-Tang Clan rapper will stage a brief U.S. tour in support of his top ten album starting next week in Kansas City. Ghostface has reportedly lined up ten dates that will take the rapper through the Midwest and Canada before heading east.

Spokespeople for Ghostface’s label, Epic Records, were not available for comment by press time.

Any live dates from the rapper would no doubt be received by the same Wu-inspired buzz that saw Ghostface’s “Supreme Clientele” debut at number seven after its release earlier this month (see “Santana Reclaims Number One As Ghostface Arrives” ). The enthusiastic response hasn’t been limited to fans; critics have hailed the rapper’s latest solo effort, with “Rolling Stone” and “The Source” among the music mags praising the album.

“It’s
been a long time since I’ve been in the airwaves or people heard from me, since my last album ['Ironman'] back in October ’96, so for me to get a [rave review], it’s like, it’s real,”
the rapper told MTV News of the reception he’s found so far. “It gives me back the energy again to let them know that Wu is still here, that Ghost is still alive. So that’s peace right there. I really appreciated that right there. It’s like, I really put a lot of work inside that.” [RealVideo]
