Garbage, Fun Lovin' Criminals Trade Re-Mixes

Long-time admirers of one another, Garbage and the Fun Lovin' Criminals have now swapped re-mixes -- with the Criminals reworking Garbage's "You Look So Fine," while Shirley Manson and the boys repaid the favor with a new mix of "Korean Bodega," a track from FLC's forthcoming album, "100% Colombian."

There's no word yet on what will come of the recent Garbage/FLC collaborations, a spokesperson for the Criminals indicated that the Garbage remix might be included on the planned 12" single for "Bodega."

In related news, the Criminals have been forced to tap a temporary drummer for its current promotional tour, as Steve -- who helped co-found the group with bassist Fast in 1993 -- broke his hand in an accident a few weeks ago.

Taking his spot for the band's December dates is drummer Mackie Jayson, who's previously played in such hardcore outfits as the Cro-Mags and Bad Brains. Jayson began rehearsing with FLC right after Thanksgiving and made his debut with the band at a Boston

radio show on December 1.

Steve is expected to rejoin the FLC as soon as his hand heals, but it wasn't known if that would permit him to return to the band before its sojourn to Australia for the Big Day Out Festival in January.
