Fresh from his appearance at this past weekend's NetAid show, the Fugees' Wyclef Jean is getting ready to kick off a brief tour of universities and clubs beginning Thursday at the University of California in La Jolla.

While at NetAid, Wyclef sat down with MTV News' John Norris backstage and said that he hoped to get the Fugees back in the studio at some point in 2000 to record the follow-up to 1996's "The Score."

Until then, Jean says he will prepare for his next solo album, and he confessed that the concept for the LP had only recently come to him.

[article id="1444364"]"Will the records be a two volume kind of thing?"[/article] Norris asked.

[article id="1444364"]"Yeah.

'The E-Cleftic' [explores] two sides of the mind of Clef,"[/article] Jean said, referring to himself in the third person. [article id="1444364"]"Where you get country, hip-hop, everything, all in one world. Now that you know what I'm about, you're gonna get that."[/article]

[article id="1444364"]"So, are we going to see that before the Fugees record?"[/article] Norris asked.

No word yet on when Wyclef plans to release his next solo effort, but we'll keep you posted.
