Pras Forms Film Company, Lines Up Next Project

Pras' long-awaited "Ghetto Superstar" film project will finally arrive in theaters on September 6 under a new title, "Turn It Up," and the rapper-actor has already lined up his next movie, "Higher Ed," which is slated to start shooting in early August.

Pras' continued immersion in the motion picture world casts some doubt on the future of the hip-hop trio The Fugees, and "Variety" reports that Pras has formed a new production company, Warning Films, along with actor Jean LaMarre.

Higher Ed" will be the first Warning Films flick, with LaMarre set to direct Pras and co-star Hill Harper in a story about a track star (Pras) who gets a scholarship to a Southern school and is hounded by gang members from New York City.

Pras last appeared onscreen in the 1999 film "Mystery Men," based upon the Dark Horse comic-book series by Bob Burden.
