L.L. Cool J, Foxy Brown, and Jay-Z are among the hip-hop celebrities that will joke on Def Jam Records co-founder Russell Simmons as part of the Sixth Annual Rap Roast, being held on July 14 at the Chelsea Piers complex in New York City.
Joining L.L. and Foxy for the charity event will be business magnate Donald Trump, Bad Boy Records President Andre Harrell, and current Def Jam CEO Lyor Cohen. Rapper Jay-Z and domestic engineer Martha Stewart will also provide taped skits for the “Rap Roast.”
Proceeds from the roast will be donated to the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, an organization founded by Russell Simmons that provides underprivileged kids with an opportunity to learn from established artists and then sell their artwork to raise money for college.
Past roastees include Sean “Puffy” Combs, DJ Funkmaster Flex, Loud Records President Steve Rifkind, Doctor Dre and Ed Lover, and DJ Red Alert.
