Foxy Brown To Support Black Film Showcase

Rapper Foxy Brown will be among those coming out on Tuesday night for the New York City premiere of "Personals," a film being shown as part of the touring showcase BlackFilmFest America 2000.

Brown, who has kept a relatively low profile since last summer's "Chyna Doll" tour, will attend the screening along with directors John Singleton and Melvin Van Peebles, model Tyson Beckford, and TV personalities Ananda Lewis, Star Jones, and Arthel Neville, among others.

"Personals" was directed by Mike Sargent and stars Malik Yoba ("Ride"), Stacey Dash ("Clueless"), and Sheryl Lee Ralph ("White Man's Burden"). The movie deals with a recently unemployed magazine writer who decides to combine business and pleasure by penning a freelance article about having thirty dates in thirty nights.

A spin-off from the acclaimed Acapulco Black Film Festival, the BlackFilmFest America showcase is slated to tour other cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. in March.

As for Brown, she recently appeared alongside L.L. Cool J and Fat Joe in Noreaga's video for "Blood Money Pt. 3," and the sultry femme rapper is tentatively set to start work on her third solo album later this year.
