Foo Fighters Debut New Guitarist At Surprise L.A. Gig

The Foo Fighters didn't waste much time trotting out new touring guitarist Chris Shiflett as the band broke in the new Foo Friday night at a surprise show in Los Angeles.

As we first reported last week, Shiflett joined the band in a touring capacity (see "Foo Fighters Beam Up New Touring Guitarist"), and Dave Grohl and company took over the Troubadour on Friday to give Shiflett his first road test.

The band played the gig under the name "Stacked Actors," a name lifted from the title of one of the new songs the band trotted out during its set. Fans can expect to hear "Stacked Actors" as well some of the other new tracks when the band releases "There Is Nothing Left To Lose" on November 2.

Next up for Shiflett and core Foos Grohl, Nate Mendel, and Taylor Hawkins will be a September 12 show in Providence, Rhode Island as part of NBC's Gravity Games. As we reported last month, the event will see the Foos join Kid Rock, Busta

Rhymes and Primus (see "Foo Fighters, Busta Rhymes, Kid Rock On Board For 'Gravity Games' Gig").
