Veruca Salt Version 2.0 To Join Filter

After playing a few low-profile shows here and there, the revamped Veruca Salt will roll out its latest incarnation on a string of dates with Filter.

Louise Post and the new Veruca lineup will team up with Filter on April 3 in Blacksburg, Virginia and will then go on to open for the band for roughly four weeks' worth of shows, most of them on college campuses.

The tour comes as Veruca Salt is set to deliver "Born Entertainer," the first single from its upcoming album, to radio on April 4. The song is the first salvo from "Resolver," the first effort from the band since vocalist/guitarist Nina Gordon left the group in 1998 (see "Veruca Salt: New Band, New Look, New Label").

The current Veruca roll call finds vocalist/guitarist Post backed by drummer Jimmy Madla, guitarist Steve Fitzpatrick, and bassist and backup singer Suzanne Sokel (see "Veruca Salt Resurrected With 'Resolver'").

After its run with Filter, the group plans to launch its own headlining tour on May 2.

The band recently shot a video for "Born Entertainer" in Los Angeles and are promising the clip will include live performance as well as "ancient Druids, a cemetery scene, the mythical Lady of the Lake and numerous special effects."
