Fat Joe To Stage Benefit Show For Caribbean Hurricane Relief

Latino rapper Fat Joe has announced plans for a special benefit dinner and concert to help raise funds for Caribbean victims of Hurricane Georges.

Also coming out for the benefit, slated for October 6 at the El Patio Night Club in New York City's Bronx borough, will be Fat Joe's friend, Big Punisher, as well as Cam'ron and Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz.

Latin performers Banda Loca, Tito Puente, Jose Alberto and Tito Nieves have also been tapped to open the concert with a series of pre-dinner performances, after which the hip-hop musicians will take to the stage for an evening-ending set.

Tickets for the fund-raiser won't come cheap, however, as sponsors are asking for a $1,000 per-seat donation to attend the event, although New York radio station Hot 97 will be giving away several seats over the next week as part of a special promotional campaign.

All the money raised by the dinner and concert will be used by the Hip Hop Has Heart Foundation to purchase food, water and

medical supplies to be sent to the hurricane-ravaged areas of the Caribbean, which has suffered from an estimated $1 billion in damages from Georges.
