Eve Sounds Off On Her Womanly Fashion

Rap's newest blonde bombshell, Philadelphia native Eve, released her debut album on Tuesday, called "Let There Be Eve... Ruff Ryders' First Lady."

Her album follows a string of hits she has appeared on, including Dru Hill member Nokio's "What Ya Want" (from the "Ryde Or Die Vol. 1" compilation), the Roots' "You Got Me," and her own "Gotta Man," the leadoff single from "Eve."

Eve makes her appearance at a time when a number of glamorous female MCs are on the scene, including Amil, Sole, Cha Cha and Rah Digga, but Eve says her sexy, feminine look is no packaged image.

"I'm an MC. I'm hard-core lyrics, whatever, however you want to call it, street lyrics, whatever," she explained to MTV News. "I spin in an outfit like this, with heels on and everything, see-through shirt and everything. But it's not about... I mean, you're a woman first, so you can present yourself in a womanly fashion

and still getting somebody behind, like what? You know? This has always been me, this is not an act." [RealVideo]

A number of Eve's fellow Ruff Ryders appear on her album, including DMX, the Lox, and Drag-On, as well as Beanie Siegal of Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella posse and Missy Elliott. Meanwhile, Eve herself will be guesting on the upcoming album by Warren G, which is due out later this fall (see "Warren G Lines Up Snoop, Nate Dogg, Slick Rick, Eve, JD, More For New Album").
