Eve, The Artist Team Up To Record "Rave" Track

You can add the studio union of Eve and the Artist to the Big Book of Inspired Pairings.

The Ruff Ryders rapper recorded a track with the man we still call Prince for his upcoming album, "Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic." The session took place last Friday at New York's Electric Ladyland studios, the day after His Purple Highness appeared on the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards to introduce a performance by TLC.

Due out in November, "Rave" will be the Artist's first album for Arista Records, which signed him late last month. In addition to Eve, the new LP will feature a host of guest appearances from the likes of Chuck D, Ani DiFranco, and Sheryl Crow (see "Prince Signs With Arista...").

As for Eve, her debut solo album "Let There Be Eve... Ruff Ryders' First Lady" was released on Tuesday. It features appearances by Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott as well as fellow Ruff Ryders DMX, Drag-On, and the Lox, among others.
