December 19 [14:00 EDT] -- En Vogue member Terry Ellis visited Manhattan's Inwood House this week to speak with young mothers and pregnant teens. During Ellis' visit, the singer encouraged young women to develop the self-confidence and determination to pursue their own dreams.
Ellis is a living example of what she preaches. She has had a successful recording career with En Vogue and as a solo artist, and she now has her own fragrance line called "Terry Ellis Southern Exposure."
In addition, Ellis will develop her own line of products. She told our colleagues at MTV Radio, "I'm planning an extension line now... bath oils, bath gels, candles, I'm going to do a book, just the works. And these are all things that I particularly like. I didn't want to do anything just for the sake of doing it. I wanted to do things that really represent who I am. I couldn't promote it if it really weren't me."
Ellis is currently on promotional tour for her fragrance.
