Wyclef Jean And Earth, Wind & Fire Collaborate For Movie Soundtracks

Wyclef Jean headed into a New York City recording studio last week with Maurice White and the other members of Earth, Wind & Fire to lay down a pair of songs for the soundtracks to two future motion pictures.

Jean wrote and produced both songs, with the track entitled "Holiday" slated for inclusion in the upcoming animated Disney film, "P.J.," while the other number, "Runaway," will be featured in the Martin Lawrence-Eddie Murphy picture, "Life," which Jean is also scoring.

"The film stars Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence," Jean told the MTV Radio Network, "[and it's about] life in prison. They start in one place and end up getting in prison, and then spend their life in prison, [which is why] it's called 'Life.'" [28.8 RealVideo]

The two songs are just the most recent collaborations between Jean and EWF, who teamed up with Ol' Dirty Bastard and Sunz of Man for a remake of

Earth, Wind & Fire's '70s soul classic, "Shining Star." The new version of "Shining Star" was included on Sunz of Man's debut record, "The Last Shall Be First."

A representative for Earth, Wind & Fire indicated that "Runaway" and "Holiday" would most likely be featured on the group's next album, which Wyclef will co-produce with Maurice White.
