Eagle Eye Cherry Says His Hit Means More Every Day

As Eagle-Eye Cherry's breakthrough hit, "Save Tonight," continues to climb the charts, it also continues to gain a new perspective for its creator.

As his tour marches on in supports of his debut album, "Desireless," Cherry (the son of jazz great Don Cherry and brother of Neneh Cherry) is finding a new meaning in the melodic, bluesy song.

"It's [about] a bittersweet time," Cherry told MTV News, "it's really about the perfect evening, with the candlelight and the wine and the fireplace. And in turn if you have this perfect evening you can probably survive a period of being apart. Savoring the moment, and maybe a miracle will happen and tomorrow won't even come. It's also about one of those nights where you don't want the break of dawn to arrive."

Cherry will stay away from his Stockholm base a bit longer as his U.S. tour stretches into October before he heads off for a European tour that runs through the end of November. Here's where you can catch Eagle Eye in the U.S.:
