Atlanta, Georgia, prepare to have the roof raised.Hip-hop mogul Jermaine Dupri is gearing up to host the first annual "Can I Live" conference, set to take place in his hometown of Atlanta from October 7-10. Some of the events highlighting the four-day conference include a Kid Capri-hosted party at the Kaya Club Bistro, a DJ contest hosted by DJ Clue, and a gala celebrating the quintuple platinum status of Jay-Z's "Vol. 2... Hard Knock Life" album. Can I Live isn't just about parties and nights out, however; the conference will feature a panel about the portrayal of women in media, moderated by "Sister 2 Sister" magazine publisher Jamie Foster-Brown. Other notable events include a celebrity softball game and a car show called "Starz And Their Carz." JD will also be using Can I Live to promote his So So Def label when R&B outfit Jagged Edge's new album "JE Heartbreak" receives the record release party treatment during the weekend. The hip-hop
mogul will wrap up Can I Live by celebrating his 27th birthday with his fourth annual JD Celebrity Birthday Bash, slated to take place at the Philips Arena.Other folks scheduled to appear during the Can I Live weekend include Da Brat, producer Rico Wade, Funk Master Flex, Tamar Braxton, and Solé.
