DMX Released On Bail As More Details Emerge In Arrest

DMX was released today after posting a $10,000 bail bond at that the rapper paid in cash.

Meanwhile, more details are beginning to emerge about the charges leveled against the rapper, who was arrested Wednesday and charged with rape, sodomy and unlawful imprisonment.

Bronx police allege that DMX forced himself on a 29-year-old exotic dancer early Sunday morning after he and a friend met the woman at a strip club and invited her back to the friend's Bronx apartment.

DMX, whose debut album, "It's Dark & Hell Is Hot," is in the Top 10 on Billboard's Pop Album Charts, denies being in the Bronx Sunday night.

"Obviously there's been a misunderstanding. It's all gonna' be straightened up in a minute," DMX said after being taken into custody at the 48th Precinct in the Bronx on Wednesday. "I didn't do anything, dog." [500k QuickTime]

The rapper voluntarily surrendered

to police after flying to New York from Hampton, Virginia (see "Rapper DMX Arrested On Rape Charges"), where DMX was set to play the Survival of the Illest Tour with Onyx and Def Squad on Wednesday night. The tour will continue without him.

The 27-year-old DMX has a lengthy arrest record dating back to 1988, including four prior convictions, the most serious of which was for drug possession in 1994.
