Jay-Z, DMX, Ja Rule Pitch In For "Black Gangster"

Christmas may come early for Jay-Z fans.

While the chart-topping rapper won't deliver his next album until well into the holiday season, he turns up this week on the soundtrack to "Black Gangster," a companion album to Donald Goines' novel and its upcoming film adaptation.

Jay-Z kicks in the new track "This Life Forever," while Ja Rule, DMX, Freddie Foxx, Jane Blaze, and Mac Mall also contribute tracks.

Blackhand Entertainment has acquired the rights to the novel, and will team with Holloway Publishing to promote Goines' catalogue, the upcoming film, and the soundtrack.
