DMX And Ruff Ryders Offer Free Pre-New Year's Show

Rapper DMX and his Ruff Ryders crew will offer the residents of Mount Vernon, New York a free pre-New Year's Eve concert that will serve as one-part holiday celebration and one-part promotion for DMX's new album.

The rapper released "...And Then There Was X" on Tuesday, and will now head to Mount Vernon's Memorial Stadium on Thursday for a free show with feature Eve, Swizz Beatz, The Lox, Drag-On, and Parle.

The Ruff Ryders' camp is inviting the public to attend the pre-millennium bash, as well as Mount Vernon natives Sean "Puffy" Combs, Mary J. Blige, Heavy D, and Pete Rock.

"We understand that our success is due to the support and love that we receive from the community and our fans," Ruff Ryder co-presidents Joaquin and Darrin Dean said in a written statement announcing the show. "We wanted to do something to include them in our celebration."

If you can't make it to Mount Vernon this week, rest easy. The show is being taped by BET and will air on

the channel on New Year's Eve.
