DMX May Face Warrant In Traffic Case

DMX is in trouble with traffic court again. A warrant for the arrest of the rapper (real name Earl Simmons) will be issued in the next few days by New York State's Cheektowaga Justice Court after the hard-driving rapper failed to show up in traffic court on Wednesday morning.

As we previously reported, DMX was arrested on March 3 on several charges, including driving with a suspended license, speeding, and carrying a small amount of marijuana (see "DMX Arrested On Driving, Drug Possession Charges").

A Cheektowaga clerk told MTV News on Wednesday that DMX's lawyers informed them that the rapper was in Texas, performing Wednesday night in Houston on the Ruff Ryders/Cash Money tour.

DMX will have to now formally turn himself in to police before the case can proceed, but because DMX only faces misdemeanor charges, it's unlikely he'll be extradited from another state.
