Celine Dion gave an impromptu performance at the LPGA Nabisco Championship in Palm Springs, California on Wednesday night, her first public show since her farewell concert in Montreal on New Year's Eve.Dion sang five songs, including a version of Frank Sinatra's "All The Way," in front of a crowd of about 1,000 at a dinner capping off the Celebrity Pro-Am portion of the tournament, which Dion and husband Rene Angelil both played in earlier that day. Other celebrities participating in the Celebrity Pro-Am included Alice Cooper, Joe Pesci, and Michael Bolton. The French-Canadian songstress is currently on a two-year sabbatical from touring in order to spend more time with her husband/manager, who has successfully fought off a mild form of skin cancer (see "Celine Postpones U.S. Dates After Husband's Cancer Diagnosis"). In January, Dion and Angelil renewed their marriage vows during a lavish ceremony at
Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.Even though she's off the road, Dion is still on the charts. Her new single, "That's The Way It Is" from the "All The Way - A Decade Of Song" compilation album, is currently number two on the Contemporary Hit Radio/Pop charts, according to "R&R."
