"Dead Man" Benefit Comes Alive Online

If you can't make it out to the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on March 29 for the "Not In Our Name"/Dead Man Walking: The Concert benefit, don't worry -- you'll still be able to catch the show via the internet.

As we previously reported (see "Vedder, Tom Waits, Ani DiFranco Set For 'Dead Man' Benefit"), the show will feature such artists as Eddie Vedder and Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam, Ani DiFranco, Tom Waits, Lyle Lovett, Michelle Shocked and Steve Earle.

The event will be hosted by director/actor Tim Robbins, who helmed the film version of "Dead Man Walking," and helped assemble the accompanying soundtrack on which many of the concert's performers appeared.

"It's going to be a really interesting, nice, moving experience to be in the audience," Robbins said of the show. "I can't wait. It's going to, you know, it's one of those rare collections

of people. [250k Audio] I'm interested to see who's going to sing together and who's going to do what songs. It's a great line-up."

The web simulcast of the concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. at www.notinourname.com, and the event's organizers say that up to 500,000 users will be able to log on to the site at one time.

The concert will benefit Murder Victims Families for Reconciliation, an organization that advocates alternatives to the death penalty and supports programs for the families of victims of violence.
