August 7 [10:00 EDT] -- Another concert-with-a-purpose is on the way in the form of this year's round of the annual Farm-Aid show.
Tickets for the 1997 incarnation of the benefit concert (featuring Farm-Aid founders Neil Young, Willie Nelson, and John Mellencamp, along with the Dave Matthews Band, the Allman Brothers, and John Fogerty among others) will go on sale this Saturday through Ticketmaster.
The concert will be held at the Texas Stadium in Dallas on October 4, and looks to build on the $13 million that the organization has handed out over the past 12 years to various farm organizations and service agencies.
As we reported on Wednesday, you can also catch Willie Nelson crooning with U2's Bono on the upcoming PBS special "Willie Nelson: Down Home." The special will debut during PBS' August pledge drive, and air dates, so viewers should check their local listings.
