Dave Matthews Band Offers Live Downloads For Charity

The Dave Matthews Band knows its fans want to get a hold of every song in the group's repertoire. With that in mind, the group is offering fans the opportunity to download four live DMB tracks, all in the name of charity.

The four songs were recorded at the band's September 11 concert at the Continental Airlines Arena in New Jersey, a performance recorded and filmed for a PBS special. The downloadable tracks will not be featured in the hour-long broadcast, however; they'll be offered to U.S. fans for preview or purchase at www.liquidaudio.com/dmb starting September 29, the same night the concert is shown on PBS.

All of the band's proceeds will be donated to VH1's Save The Music charity, a non-profit organization set up to restore and support music programs in public schools and raise public awareness about the importance of music education for children.

In other Dave Matthews Band news, the group

plans on releasing a live album later this year. In early 2000, the band plans to reconvene in the studio to record its next LP, the follow-up to last year's "Before These Crowded Streets."
