Getaway People Step In For Dave Matthews Gig

For the second time in less than a week, the Dave Matthews Band has been forced to go to the bullpen for a new opening act to replace David Gray.

On Monday, the Native American blues rock band Indigenous signed on for a few Midwest shows after Gray had to pull out due to conflicts with his own headlining tour (see "Indigenous Tapped For Dates With Dave Matthews Band").

Now, the Norwegian band Getaway People has landed the rest of Gray's previously announced opening dates and will join the Dave Matthews Band for gigs on August 23 in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and a multi-night stand in Hartford, Connecticut, from August 25-27.

The four shows are a brief detour for the Getaway People. The band is on the road in support of its new LP, "Turnpike Diaries," which features a guest appearance from DMB violinist Boyd Tinsley on the track "Open Your Mind."
