Atlanta-based hip-hop producer Jermaine Dupri, who's worked with TLC, Usher and Mariah Carey, is taking the Puffy route and trying his hand at performing.
Dupri has just released "The Party Continues" [300k QuickTime], the first single and video from his upcoming debut solo album, and got a bit of help from Usher and Da Brat for both the song and the clip. "I'm probably going to have, like, everyone on my album, or everybody that I've worked with or want to work with or whatever," Dupri told MTV News of his transition from producer to artist.
"I feel like I won't do it but one time... might as well do it, you know what I'm saying, to the best that I can do it and just knock it all out" [300k QuickTime].
As we first reported last month (see "Jermaine Dupri To Team With Snoop, Master P For Debut"), Dupri also enlists
the help of Snoop Doggy Dogg, Master P, Nas, and Jay-Z on his debut, which will arrive May 19.
