D'Angelo's Throat Woes Postpone Shows

Perhaps D'Angelo gave too much of himself when his tour rolled into New York's Radio City Music Hall on Thursday night.

The day after the show, the R&B singer's record label announced that D'Angelo would not be able to perform Friday night at the same venue citing a severe throat infection. Virgin Records notes that the hitmaker has badly swollen vocal cords, laryngitis, and tracheaitis, and has been ordered by his doctor to rest his voice for at least 24 hours.

D'Angelo has now moved Friday night's show at Radio City to March 30, bumping a show in Boston originally scheduled for that day to a date to be determined. The rest of the singer's itinerary is expected to go on as scheduled.

The news comes after D'Angelo lit up the historic New York venue Thursday night with a performance that saw D'Angelo explore his rock side, smashing instruments during his rendition of "S**t Damn Mother F***er." The singer closed his set with a version of his hit "Untitled" that saw

each member of his twelve-piece band leave the stage throughout the song, leaving D'Angelo to finish the song solo.
